Royal Disaster

The sun shone down on the small town of Radiator Springs, just as the cars who lived there began their days as usual. The call of the revile and the blaring of Jimi Hendrix woke the townsfolk like normal, a few grumbling or groaning about it being too early to awaken. Of those cars who were awoken by the usual argument, two were Doc Hudson and his son, Lightning Hudson-McQueen, both of whom were racecars.

A yawn escaped the red racer as he left his cone at the Cozy Cone Motel. “Can’t those two stop arguing?” He asked in a sleepy tone as his girlfriend, Sally Carrera blinked the last bits of sleep from her eyes.

“Apparently not…” She replied with a groan before she too yawned again. Looking to his left, Lightning saw a somewhat sleepy Doc emerge from the clinic where he lived and worked. The Hornet yawned before he shook himself to get the last bits of sleep from his mind. Already, the older racer was wearing his dirt tires and headset, which meant it was training day.

“I’ll see you later Sally. It’s training day again.” Lightning said before he kissed her and drove over to where his father was waiting.

Sally smiled as Doc spoke to his son before they left for the dirt track that was not too far from town. She looked back at the motel and entered. It was time to prepare for the influx of tourists and visitors for the day…

-----
It wasn’t long before the tourists began to flow into town. Among them was a pretty female Hudson Hornet that was a powder pink color. Her blue eyes stood out as a contrast to her light and peppy coloring. On her hood was the usual Hornet ornament, but what was unusual was that this one was gold with sapphire eyes. Her tires were also studded with diamonds and other rare jewels, and she seemed to be in a happy mood.

Amy Cario turned off the interstate and down towards the small town, her destination clear.

She felt elated when she saw the sign that showed the town’s name. “Oh, this should be so much fun!” She exclaimed in a proper British tone.

Too bad she had no idea on just what was awaiting her…

-----
Sally looked up, just as she saw a familiar plane trio come in for a landing at the small airport that was just a few blocks away from the Cozy Cone.

One had the gull-wings of a Corsair, one had wing-tip tanks and one had a sprayer from what she could see. At once, she knew who those planes were.

She left the motel lobby and made her way over to the airport, just as the three planes came over to her. “Skipper! Dusty! Spray!” She exclaimed excitedly as Skipper Riley, Dusty Crophopper, and Spray Krane came over to her location.

Skipper was a blue Corsair who had served in World War II and was currently the commander of the Navy Squadron VFA-103, the Jolly Wrenches. He had pale blue eyes and the usual equipment of a Corsair, but on his sides was the number 7 and he had the number of his old unit on his sides as well: VF-17. Dusty was a former crop-duster turned air racer who had the wings of a T-33 and a yellow and black Skyslicer Mark V as his propeller. He had blue eyes and was a grey color with some black. On his rudder was the Jolly Wrenches insignia, the piston-&-cross-wrenches in white along with his racer ID, D7. Spray was blue with a white underbelly and brown eyes, and on his wing edges was a green racing stripe. Right behind his antenna was a bubble light and he had a golden police badge on either side of his engine cowling Hooked up to him as a sprayer as well, a sign of his last job as a crop-duster, but he was now a police plane instead.

“It’s good to see you too, Sally.” Dusty said as Sally smiled widely.

“So, what brings you here?” The Porsche asked as Skipper just taxied forward.

“We came to see what was going on.” The war veteran replied as Sally rolled her eyes.

“As usual.” She replied in a sarcastic manner. Spray snickered before the foursome left the airport tarmac.

Dusty then noticed the clinic had the ‘Closed’ sign out and knew at once what was going on when he read that. “Let me guess, Doc and Lightning out training?” He asked as Sally nodded.

“They are. The season starts in a few weeks.” She replied as Dusty nodded.

“I know. The Wings around the Globe Rally is in a few weeks as well.” He replied before Sally looked at him.

She smiled as she shook her front. “As normal…”

Then, Dusty looked back as he moved aside to let a family of cars by. “Pretty busy nowadays.” He remarked as Sally rolled her eyes.

“You have no idea.” She replied as they came to a stop at the V8 Café. “It’s been busy since the town got back on the map, but it really picked up in the last nine months since the World Grand Prix scam was broken open by Mater.”

“I noticed.” Spray said as he saw a car bugging poor Mater for a photo. “Hang on…”

“Oh boy…” Dusty murmured as Spray chased the car away from the tow truck with his siren and light going.

In a few minutes, Spray came back. “Sorry about that, but Mater looked like he needed help.” he said as Dusty shook his front.

“No harm done.” Sally replied as Skipper looked back at her.

“Does that happen often?” Skipper inquired as Sally nodded.

“It does.” The Porsche said as the Corsair sighed.

He figured as much…

-----
At the dirt track, twin trails of dust were thrown up as two racecars sped around the naturally formed track. One was a midnight blue while the other was red with a midnight blue stripe. The two didn’t seem to care about anything else in the world, which was fine by them. Doc looked back at Lightning and the two came to a stop at the old start-rope. “Not bad, rookie.” The older racer commented as the younger car smiled sheepishly.

“Well, you are the one training me. I don’t think I could have a better crew chief.” Lightning replied as Doc blinked in surprise.

“Kid, I…”

Lightning faced his father directly and spoke, cutting the older racer off mid-sentence. “I mean it. If it wasn’t for you, I would have been a cocky rookie for the rest of my life. And if you hadn’t been there during the World Grand Prix thing, I would probably be dead.” The red racer said as Doc looked on. “You also saved me from being used by the Lemons when I was only an infant…”

Those words made Doc look down at the ground as memories of that day came back. “But…” That word made the midnight blue car glance back up at the younger racer. Lightning looked into Doc’s blue eyes, eyes that he had inherited from the Hornet. “I am glad you did. I’m just glad that it is you who is my father.”

Shocked, and a bit touched, Doc could only drive up to his son and nuzzle him. Tears escaped the older racer’s eyes as he nuzzled the younger racer. “Thanks…” He rasped as Lightning returned his father’s nuzzle. “That means a lot…”

“I mean it. You’re the best, Dad…” Hearing Lightning say that prompted more tears to escape Doc’s blue eyes, and he knew the younger car meant it too…

-----
In town, the tourists were now coming in through a non-stop arrival train. Already, Spray could see the town was filling up with cars from everywhere in the country as well as some from outside the U.S. He could see many, but an odd color made him look back, only to stare in shock at the powder pink Hudson Hornet who was now driving through the town. She had eyes that were the same color as Doc’s, but she had different tires on, and her Hornet hood ornament was gold with sapphire eyes.

Spray blinked in surprise and confusion, making Dusty look over. “Wow…Never saw a Hudson Hornet looking like that before…” Dusty remarked as Spray nodded.

“Uh huh…” The police plane was speechless.

Dusty realized the kid was staring and nudged him with the winglet on his right tip tank. Spray yelped as he felt the tip of that winglet poke into his side. “Hey!” He exclaimed as he glared at the air racer/warplane. “What was that for?!”

“You were staring.” Dusty hissed back, making the younger plane groan.

“Oh, right…”

“Excuse me, but is this the town of Radiator Springs?” The Hornet asked as she came up to Sally, Spray, Dusty, and Skipper.

“Yes, it is.” Sally said, making the Hornet giggle with joy.

“Oh, finally! I have heard so much about this quaint little town, and I wanted to come and visit it before I had to return home.” The female Hornet said as Dusty rolled his blue eyes.

“So, where are you from?” Sally asked as the pink car smiled warmly.

“I am from Britain. My name is Amy Cario, and I am the wife of a famed Duke who lives there.” Amy replied, making Skipper, Spray, and Dusty all gape at her.

“WHAT?!” All three exclaimed at once.

She looked back at the trio of planes and frowned a bit. “Oh, dear. Do you all have to be so rude?” Amy asked before Skipper seemed to regain some sense of himself and shook his front.

“Sorry.” He said before Spray and Dusty both seemed to snap out of it and apologized as well. Amy didn’t seem to notice that though and pushed the two planes aside. Spray yelped as he was shoved towards a cactus not too far away and came to a halt before it. His tail wheel was just mere centimeters from the spiny plant. As for Dusty, he yelped as he was flipped upside down and his landing gear retracted on instinct, including his tail wheel.

“HEY!” The warplane/racer yelped, but it was not heard by the female Hornet.

“So…do you have a place where I could stay?” Amy asked as she looked back at Sally, completely ignoring the two planes that she had shoved aside.

“Um…there’s…well, there’s the motel I run, the Cozy Cone.” Sally offered before Amy seemed to cringe at the idea of sleeping in a cone.

“Um…do you have any place that has a bit more…class?” The female Hornet asked as Sally looked back at Skipper for any help.

Skipper just moved back, making Sally sigh. “Well, there’s the Wheel Well up the road. It’s a bit more higher-end than the Cozy Cone, if that is what you want.”

“Oooh! Can you take me there?” Amy asked before Sally looked back at the two planes Amy had ignored.

“I’m sure one of them could take you.” The Porsche replied, pointing at the flipped Dusty and Spray with a tire.

Amy looked back and scoffed. “Are you kidding me? They don’t hold much for me to be around them.”

Spray looked shocked before his look changed to one of anger. “HEY! Just what is your big problem-” He was cut off by Skipper pulling him back. “Hey! Leggo!” He yelped as the Corsair pulled him away from Amy.

“Kid, she’s royalty! We don’t need an international incident!” The war veteran hissed, making Spray growl as he looked down. As much as he hated to admit it, the World War II plane was right.

At that moment, Spray looked back, only to see two familiar cars coming back from the dirt track. One was a midnight blue Hudson Hornet and one was a red and midnight blue Dodge Viper hybrid. “Well, Doc and Lightning sure got back at a cozy time…” Spray muttered under his breath. Skipper noticed this and rolled his eyes before he smacked the younger plane with a wing.

“Hey!”

“Shove it, kid.”

“Aw!”

-----
Doc and Lightning entered the town, both covered in dirt from their time at the dirt track. The younger racecar was eager to get back and Doc couldn’t help but laugh at his son’s attitude.

An odd colored car appeared in Doc’s peripheral vision and the darker-colored car looked over, only to stare in shock and disbelief at the car he was seeing. It was powder-pink Hudson Hornet with blue eyes like his and Lightning’s, and while that in itself was unusual, the color was what stood out to him. While the Hornet hood ornament was gold and had sapphire eyes, and while the tires were studded with diamonds and other rare jewels, it was her! He knew that car anywhere, and it was hard to miss her. “No way…” He breathed, making Lightning follow his line of sight.

“What? Never seen a pink car before?” The kid teased before Doc rolled his eyes and smacked Lightning with a tire.

“Not now, rookie.” Doc growled, prompting the red racer to groan and he turned away. Doc’s eyes drifted back towards the pink Hornet and his blue eyes went wide again. The license plate was the same as hers too!

“It…It can’t be…” Doc murmured as she shook his front in disbelief. Was it really her?

Slowly, he ventured over to her, staring all the while. He reached her, and reaching out with a tire, albeit hesitantly, nudged her. The female Hornet squeaked as she jumped and turned to face him.

Blue eyes met blue as the two Hornets stared at one another. One was pink, the other midnight blue, but if one was observant enough, they could see similarities between the two. The female looked at Doc, confused and a bit disgusted that an unclean car had touched her. “Can I help you?” She asked, making Doc blink.

The older racer stared at her before he spoke. That was when things came crashing down for the whole town… “Amy?”

Castle

In Britain, Finn McMissile sighed as he watched the cars he had been sent by his new ‘ally’ set up the chamber. The chamber that would hold the Duchess herself…

He couldn’t believe he was being asked to kidnap royalty. Well, if it would get him closer to his objective, he would have to do it. The spy just hoped that his request to have this mission made public would be granted once it was over. He was sure he wouldn’t be able to live with the guilt if it wasn’t.

Attacking his friends, nearly killing Doc Hudson twice, it was too much! He was supposed to defend, not kill! Finn closed his eyes tightly. He hated this mission so much! He couldn’t even contact Holley and Siddeley to assure them he was still on their side!

‘Please, Chrysler, have this mission end soon!’ He pleaded silently. Too bad it wasn’t going to go as he planned…
